UNANIMOUS CHORUS: IT WILL BE A GREAT SHOW, WE WILL BEAT THE 70,000 SPECTATORS IN 2023
Misano World Circuit, 27 April 2024 – A unanimous chorus: the Emilia-Romagna Round of WorldSBK scheduled at Misano World Circuit from 14 to 16 June will be a great spectacle.
Watching the start of the countdown were the people of EICMA Riding Fest, the free event organized by the Milan International Two Wheel Exhibition on the occasion of its 110th anniversary.
The 2024 poster of the event was revealed on the Radio Deejay stage, in the presence of the drivers Nicolò Bulega (Team Aruba), Andrea Iannone (Team Go Eleven) and Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team), accompanied by the team managers Serafino Foti ( Aruba), Marco Barnabò (Barni Spark Racing Team), Filippo Conti (Yamaha GYRT) and Denis Sacchetti (Go Eleven).
At the beginning, greetings from Pietro Meda (EICMA President), Andrea Albani (Managing Director Misano World Circuit), Francesco Valentino (Dorna Sport) and Fabrizio Piccioni (Mayor of Misano Adriatico). The presence of a SBK icon like Troy Bayliss was highly applauded.
Nicolò Bulega: “I will prepare carefully for Misano after a two-month break. It’s a tough season and after the Supersport world championship I started well, but we will have to fight because there is great competitiveness. I’m waiting for Misano with the aim of having a great race on my home circuit.”
Andrea Iannone: “I’m happy to be back on track in WorldSBK, a very competitive championship with many riders competing, giving the public great emotions and gripping moments. Every round is engaging and we hope to be able to put in a good performance at Misano.”
Danilo Petrucci: “I’m recovering from the injury, it was a bad blow with all these fractures. I would like to be on track at the tests at the end of May and then at the top for the Misano race, which I care about so much. I’m waiting for the fans on a track that transmits enthusiasm and promises to be truly balanced.”
Pietro Meda (EICMA President): “We are celebrating our 110th birthday in a special context, together with the manufacturers and the public who have the opportunity to test over 280 motorbikes on the track and on the tracks provided in the area. Over the two days we will have a lot of people and given the success there are the conditions for returning here in the future with this much appreciated initiative”.
Andrea Albani (Managing Director Misano World Circuit): “It is a strategic event for us, which consolidates the identity of Marco Simoncelli in the name of events that are accompanied by a proposal of motorcycle competitions without equal in the world. We are in the heart of the Motor Valley and thanks to the investments and closeness of the Region and the local administrations we continue to grow together with the network of companies protagonists in the MWC Square. The WorldSBK Round promises to be able to beat the over 70,000 spectators in 2023.”
Fabrizio Piccioni (Mayor of Misano Adriatico): “We breathe this climate linked to motors all year round, we work to welcome events and fans with the culture of hospitality that distinguishes us. Here, motorsport fans know they are at home and SBK has a fantastic tradition at Misano.”
Francesco Valentino (Dorna Sport): “In mid-June we will be up here, on a circuit that is in the history of the SBK world championship. Italy expresses an incredible passion for all motorsport events and here the SBK has a record audience every year. This year the FIM Women’s Motorcycling World Championship will be added which will start from MWC and for which there is great anticipation”.
