Misano World Circuit, 26 May 2024 – The 2024 edition of the Rubia Engine Oil Misano Grand Prix Truck closes with almost 40 thousand attendance, a fixture in the Motor Valley for over thirty years with the adrenaline of truck racing, the community party of truck drivers around the gathering of decorated vehicles and the opportunity to update on the technologies and services offered by road haulage in the commercial area. Yesterday’s 15,844 spectators were joined by today’s 22,415.

SUPER-FAST AND SUSTAINABLE TRUCKS ON THE TRACK

The 2024 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship got underway at MWC. On the track, the trucks have a speed limiter of 160 km/h, 13,000 cm³ of displacement and 1100 hp of power.

It is worth highlighting the continuous progress that this competition produces on the sustainability front.  In 2023 it placed 13th in the Sustainable Championships Index, out of 105 motorsport championships recognized globally. Best practices that promote eco-friendly practices while maintaining the exciting and unique character of truck racing. The Goodyear FIA ETRC has become the first motorsport series to switch to 100% sustainable fuel and bio-LNG in 2021 and with main partner Goodyear the racing tires are recycled for on-road retreading, reducing the use of natural resources, waste and energy consumption.

After the only Italian stage scheduled in the calendar, which started under the banner of the Hungarian driver and reigning champion Norbert Kiss, winner of the four races at MWC, the track bison will now move to Slovakia for the second round on 8 and 9 June, then at Zolder in Belgium, at the Nurburgring in Germany, at Most in the Czech Republic, at Le Mans in France before closing in Spain, at Jarama, on 5 and 6 October. Over the course of the season, over 350 thousand spectators attend the races.

THE ROAD TRANSPORT MARKET

In the first four months of 2024 there were 10,237 registrations of new trucks, 9.1% more than in the first four months of 2023. Progress in all four geographical areas of the country: +14.8% South and Islands, +12.6% North-East, +3.4% North-West and +3.2% the Central regions.

TECHNOLOGIES AND NEW SOLUTIONS TO HELP THE WORK OF TRUCK DRIVERS

OVER 500 TEST DRIVES ON THE TRACK

Sold out. The possibility of testing new models and doing so on an international track where the great world motor racing competitions take place is a winning combination. There were over 500 participants, who occupied all the scheduled time slots. The test drives were organized by the media partners of the event Vado e Torno and Trasportare Oggi in collaboration with manufacturers of the caliber of Daf, Ford Trucks, Iveco, Man and Renault Trucks. The next episode of Formula Truck dedicated to the event was also recorded over the weekend, broadcast on ch. 68 of digital terrestrial and on the EvenT Youtube channel.

THE GREAT FESTIVAL OF DECORATED AND HISTORIC TRUCKS

They arrived from all over Italy and various European countries to show their works of art to the weekend public. Here too, the area dedicated to over 250 decorated trucks was sold out and after two days of celebration they closed the weekend with the parade on the Marco Simoncelli track. Together with them, the 30 historic vehicles on display at the MWC Square, an initiative organized by the Circolo Italiano Camion Storici “Gino Tassi”.
