THE MISANO RACING WEEKEND SHOW
Automotive weekend at Misano World Circuit with the traditional Misano Racing Weekend. Numerous championships on the track which at the start of the season arouse curiosity to identify new protagonists.
On the track the TCR Italy (sequential gearbox), Mini Challenge, TCR Italy DSG. Gran Turismo Sprint GT3, Italian F4 Championship, Gran Turismo Sprint GT Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup Italia.
The Porsche Carrera Cup, in its eighteenth edition, will see 35 crews at the start with races live on Dazn, also in free mode and in live streaming in HD on www.carreracupitalia.it The various challenges for the titles are already announced to be balanced, which among others will find the reigning champion Larry Ten Voorde and the new official driver of the Q8 Hi Perform Team Keagan Masters at the start, in addition to the already titled Simone Iaquinta (2019 and 2020), Gianmarco Quaresmini (2018 and 2022) and Alberto Cerqui (2021) and two-time Carrera Cup France champion Marvin Klein.
It is a record that will be set in the 22nd edition of the Italian Gran Turismo Championship. 53 cars entered, a historic record. A season that opens under the banner of large numbers, therefore, and which has allowed the two classes to be split, making it possible to hold four races of 50 minutes + 1 lap, two for the GT3 and the same number for the GT Cup.
In GT3 there are 23 cars ready to take to the track in the major class, where the return of Porsche and Aston Martin stands out but, leading the way, will be Ferrari with six crews at the wheel of the recent 296 GT3 and the multi-victory 488 GT3 Evo 2020. After its debut in the last race of last season, Easy Race has prepared its 296 GT3 for a high-profile crew made up of multiple champion Thomas Biagi paired with 19-year-old Enzo Trulli, son of former F1 driver Jarno .
In the 2024 GT Cup, the series reserved for cars in single-make configuration, two groups: the first includes the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo and Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2, the second the Porsche GT3 Cup 991 and 992. All four races, lasting 50 minutes + 1 lap, will be broadcast live on Acisport TV (SKY 228), on the website www.acisport.it/CIGT and on the championship’s social networks. Furthermore, RAI SPORT will broadcast race 1 on Sunday at 9.50am, while race 2 will be broadcast live from 2pm and fully broadcast at 10.50pm. Over the three days, entry to the racetrack will be free.
