Misano World Circuit, 18 May 2024 – Valentino Rossi and Misano World Circuit confirm their total chemistry. After the historic success of 2023, the champion from Tavullia returns to the top of the podium on his home circuit, where he wrote historic pages on two wheels, confirming himself as an absolute protagonist also on the GT planet.

In race 1 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Rossi got into his BMW halfway through the race and took the lead, picking up the position given to him by his talented Belgian teammate Maxime Martin. Rossi retained first position and in the last two laps, with his opponent back in contact, he conceded nothing, crossing the finish line in first place ahead of the BMW of Charles Weerts, who in turn had taken over the baton and half the race from Dries Vanthoor. Third place for Giacomo Altoè’s Lamborghini, paired with Thierry Vermeulen.

“Hard and tiring race, always at the limit and with the need to not make any mistakes – said Valentino Rossi – with the last laps really under pressure. I am very happy with this victory, still here in Misano and in front of so many people. Maxime was very good, we did a great job.”

“It is a great satisfaction to see the most famous Riders’ Land rider triumph in such a competitive championship – the words of the Managing Director of Misano World Circuit Andrea Albani, who awarded the winners – and also a nice way to open this racing weekend . Being able to reward Vale on this track, which saw him as the protagonist of great feats, makes us particularly happy.”

Also cheering for Valentino Rossi were the MotoGP riders, guests of Mattia Pasini at the MWC Res Tech Simulation Center: Francesco Bagnaia, Franco Morbidelli, Marco Bezzecchi and Celestino Vietti.

On the grid, before the start of race 1, the Italian anthem was played by the Rimini Youth Band, a group active since 2012 and made up of around thirty musicians aged 8 to 18, directed by Maestro Andrea Brugnettini.

In the evening, race 2 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, the only night race of the season
