Over 1,500 students on tour at MWC, Girls on Track and ITS Maker course participants
Tomorrow the Rose Villain concert in the Fan Village
Free shuttles to reach the circuit
Misano World Circuit, 11 April 2024 – Young people were the protagonists of the first day of the weekend dedicated to the Misano E-Prix, the first European round of the tenth edition of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Over 1,200 students, coming from 16 schools and universities in the area, met the world of Formula E and shared the contents that the event transmits, linked to sustainability, energy efficiency and in general a great attention to environmental saving in all forms.
The young people visited the circuit on a specially organized tour of the paddock and climbed the hill at the bend on which the oak tree dedicated to Marco Simoncelli stands. This will be followed by commitments to the scheduled talks and a lot of curiosity about the activity on the track which started today with free practice.
Added to them are the 200 girls who participated in the activities of the Girls on Track program, a program that aims to promote gender equality in motorsports by offering young women a look at the numerous career opportunities available on and off the track, and the students of the ITS Maker in Sport & Electric Motorcycle course based at MWC.
“It was exciting to welcome so many young people interested and curious to learn about the content that Formula E conveys together with the spectacle of the races – commented Andrea Albani, managing director of MWC – This was one of the shared objectives and in recent weeks relationships have been consolidated which have resulted in the many planned initiatives. Here at MWC we also host the ITS Maker of the Emilia-Romagna Region which prepares technicians for motorsport teams, who have also been experiencing the adrenaline of Formula E for several days.”
A FORMULA AND GEN1 AS A GIFT TO THE ITS MAKER OF MISANO WORLD CIRCUIT
The original Formula E Gen1 car was delivered to the ITS Maker active at MWC, which in 2014 launched the revolutionary era of fully electric open-wheel cars.
A car with a potential of 200 kW, capable of reaching a speed of 225 km/h generating 100 kWh of energy.
The gift from Formula E intends to stimulate the commitment to promoting sustainable human progress by cultivating a new generation of environmentally conscious engineers and innovators among young participants in the ITS Maker at Misano World Circuit and throughout the Motor Valley.
The delivery was attended by the Head of the Political Secretariat of the Presidency of the Emilia-Romagna Region Gianmaria Manghi, the mayor of Misano Adriatico Fabrizio Piccioni, the Managing Director of Misano World Circuit Andrea Albani and, for Formula E, Julia Pallé, Sustainability Manager, and Margot McMillen, Event Director of the Misano E-Prix.
“The future of the Motorsport industry passes through training and innovation – commented Gianmaria Manghi -. The Emilia-Romagna Region has given substance to this belief and the ITS here at the Misano World Circuit proved to be an extraordinary success. Now the meeting with Formula E is another step in the direction of the future.”
TOMORROW THE ROSE VILLAIN CONCERT. FEDERICO BARONI FROM RIMINI OPENS
The show in the Fan Village is added to the show on the track. Rose Villain’s concert is scheduled for tomorrow at 1pm, fresh from the great success achieved with “Click Boom!”, the song brought to the stage of the Sanremo Festival.
Opening the concert at 12:00 will be Federico Baroni, a singer-songwriter born in Cesena but raised in Rimini, who in 2016 participated in the X-Factor Boot Camp and, in 2018, in the “Amici” talent show.
On Sunday, however, Bradley Simpson will take the stage at the Fan Village. Following his success with The Vamps, he transitioned from frontman to solo artist, embarking on an exciting new chapter in his career.
The performances by Rose Villain and Bradley Simpson are part of the many opportunities that ticket holders for the Misano E-Prix will have access to.
