The MWC considers “sustainability” to be a primary element of its strategy. In order to
better interact with all Stakeholders, while enhancing the territory in which the company operates requires to adopt sustainability policies that take into account social and environmental aspects, as well as economic ones.
The MWC promotes the economic, environmental and social sustainability of the events organized and hosted at the circuit following the values of good management, safety, integrity, inclusiveness and transparency.
Inspiring values that make the MWC’s approach sustainable:
• maximization of shared value;
• conscious use of natural resources;
• prevention and decrease of the environmental impact, by using energy from renewable sources, the recycling and reduction of waste and scraps, the use of compostable materials for food and beverage;
• human capital enhancement;
• improvement of the performances liaised to the health and safety protection of both the
users of the equipped spaces of the circuit, the staff and third parties;
• offer of sustainable and increasingly competitive innovative services;
• quality of service and customer satisfaction throughout the company, ensuring the accessibility and complete usability of products, services, environments and structures;
• responsible supply chain;
• promotion of the sustainability culture by encouraging all stakeholders to adopt moral behaviors;
Specifically, the MWC is committed to:
• spreading the culture of Sustainability, Quality and Safety through appropriate information towards all personnel and increase the level of awareness;
• enhancing employees and their professional growth at all levels, through awareness raising and training programs aimed to skills development and individuals empowerment;
• scheduling regular meetings with the staff in charge to promote the spread of the sustainability culture throughout the company and preparing guidelines to be adopted in the MWC workplaces;
• ensuring that all personnel receive adequate training on their duties and the risks that arise from such activities;
• preventing accidents, injuries and sickness;
• ensuring the availability and suitability of protection measures and tools by adopting organizational and procedural solutions inspired by the best practices in the field of health, safety and environmental protection;
• guarantee cooperation with public authorities and control bodies;
• carrying out the scheduled Circuit facilities’ maintenance in compliance with the provisions on health, safety and the environment;
• qualifying Suppliers according to objective criteria and periodically evaluating their performance, in order to guarantee an efficient service that meets the customers expectations;
• involving Suppliers in providing services which guarantee full customer satisfaction and according to the MWC’s ethical principles;
• building a “sustainable” supply chain, with the aim of providing services that guarantee full customer satisfaction and minimize environmental, social and economic impacts by adopting a Green Procurement policy which pays attention not only to environmental criteria in choosing contractors, suppliers and products but also to the circular economy, to the costs of the products purchased and to the use of means and tools in favor of a sustainable logistics;
• promoting certification tools (certifications issued by accredited bodies and/or product certifications) which certify the inclusion of sustainability criteria in choosing suppliers, contractors and products;
• adopting innovative technological solutions for communication, development and
provision of services;
• identifying and promoting solidarity initiatives, aimed to increase the level of corporate sustainability, through the contribution of each individual and the whole company itself.
All goals and targets about quality and sustainability come from what’s been listed so far.
The MWC undertakes to constantly monitor the performance of its Management System for the Quality and Sustainability of Events, applying the reference standards, in order to keep improving its service, keep its stakeholder satisfaction and increase the level of sustainability of both organized and hosted events.
Especially, the sustainable development goals defined in the United Nations 2030 Agenda have been shared and activities aimed to commitment will be planned.
Regarding the 17 objectives, the organization is committed to contributing to the achievement of some in particular:

GOOD HEALTH & WELL- BEING

Transmit the sport’s sound principles to stakeholders. Leave a post-event material legacy in the sports area. Develop sports area retaining projects. Collaborate with institutions involved in health issues. Ensure good health and well-being of workers.

GENDER EQUALITY

Adopt company policies fully respecting the gender freedom. Offer equal opportunities to all workers without prejudice.

SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES

Evaluate the efficiency of local services related to waste management, mobility and safety. Involve and raising the awareness of local authorities on the events sustainable management. Directly provide supplementary services to ensure adequate levels of safety, inclusiveness and environment respect.

RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION

Involve certified suppliers who care about sustainability issues. Prefer good quality materials and reusable fittings. Optimize waste management and post-event disposal, or materials recycling. Leave material legacies on the territory.

CLIMATE ACTION

Encourage people to use public transport. Offset the emissions generated. Preferably engage local suppliers while minimizing transport. Use ecological materials and catering services with local products. Calculate CO2 emissions with a view to a progressive reduction.

PARTNERSHIP FOR THE GOALS

Inform, empower and collaborate with all stakeholders to pursue the sustainable
development goals. Develop partnerships in the local area to leave positive tangible and intangible legacies.

The MWC is supervised by the Master Soc. Coop. Office, which manages all the actions and audits necessary for the implementation of the procedures and the collection of evidence that certifies the application and compliance with the indications of the ISO 20121 standard.
